Do You Really Need A Traditional Business Plan?

Via Joe Duncan

A traditional business plan is not designed to make you feel any real sense of empowerment, in fact for most of you who have ever sat down to follow a traditional business plan it's done the exact opposite.
~
A traditional business plan is designed to make you feel that you have a lack of credibility, experience, resources and ability to create your vision.
~
So, throw it out. Don't waste your time following a plan that serves you no real purpose and quite possibly is the basis for so many failed businesses and start ups!
~
Your business plan has to be built around 3 fundamental concepts:
~
1. Significance. Is what you're building, sharing and creating world class?
Is it remarkable, significant and positioned in such a way that it simply can't be ignored even by the doubters?
If you're not prepared to be world class, expect to get slaughtered in the new economy, excellence is what is demanded!
~
2. Influence. It doesn't matter what you make or create you have to build your business around influence, which is your ability to get noticed and be known in your industry. 50% of all your time has to be spent building your brand. If they don't know who you are, they aren't going to spend money with you!
~
3. Domination. You have to wake up every morning with the intention of putting a dent in the universe, you have to get noticed for being the best, so good in fact they don't even know you have any competitors.
~
A traditional business plan, doesn't work for most business ideas because most of the things you guys want to do have no income stream until you become world class and have developed a level of credibility and craftsmanship.
~
You can be very successful at anything you decide to do, if you commit yourself to becoming the best at what you do and in many ways that starts with a vision, rather than a plan for a business.
~
Using the 3 fundamentals above will lead you to understanding the universal flow of success in business:
~
Significance leads to influence and influence leads to resources (the thing you keep chasing...) and resources leads to power or freedom depending on what gets you off, and every successful person built their empire using that exact flow.
