Unveiling Surveillance Footage: Allegations Against Sean "Diddy" Combs

CNN has exclusively obtained surveillance footage from 2016 shedding light on a disturbing altercation involving Sean “Diddy” Combs and his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. The video, captured on March 5, 2016, appears to corroborate allegations made by Ventura in a now-settled federal lawsuit filed against Combs in November of that year.

In the footage, taken from various camera angles at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, Ventura is seen exiting a hotel room and heading towards a bank of elevators. Combs, wrapped in a towel, rushes down the hallway after her, grabbing her by the neck and violently throwing her to the ground. He proceeds to kick her while she is down, before retrieving her belongings and leaving the scene. The video also captures Combs shoving Ventura and throwing objects towards her with force.

Ventura's attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, described the footage as "gut-wrenching" and emphasized Ventura's bravery in coming forward with her allegations against Combs.

The incident, which occurred during an off-and-on relationship between Combs and Ventura, resulted in Ventura filing a lawsuit against Combs, citing physical abuse and other mistreatment throughout their relationship. The lawsuit was settled shortly after it was filed, with the details of the settlement remaining undisclosed.

Following the settlement, Combs has faced additional civil lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct and illegal activity. Despite vehemently denying the allegations, the cases remain active, with authorities conducting searches of Combs' homes as part of a federal investigation into human trafficking crimes.

Combs' attorney, Aaron Dyer, has criticized the searches as excessive and maintains Combs' innocence, emphasizing that no criminal or civil liability has been found against him in connection with the allegations.

The release of the surveillance footage and ongoing legal battles surrounding Combs underscore the complexities and challenges of addressing allegations of abuse and misconduct in the entertainment industry.
