Rapper and reality TV star Jim Jones is behind bars in Coweta County after his involvement in a brief police pursuit.

Joseph Guillermo Jones, 41, is facing charges including theft by receiving stolen property, possession of firearm during the commission of a crime, narcotics possession, marijuana possession and dangerous drugs to be kept in original container, according to jail reports.

The incident occurred Wednesday night when Investigator Jeremy Wood with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office spotted a gray Mercedes SUV traveling south on Interstate 85 that reportedly drifted into the left hand emergency lane several times.

When Wood pulled up beside the SUV, the interior of the car appeared to be filled with smoke and the smell of marijuana was apparent after Wood rolled down his window, according to Chief Deputy James Yarbrough with the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.

A traffic stop was conducted on the SUV at exit 35, where the driver of the SUV reportedly rolled through the stop sign at the bottom of the exit ramp before pulling over on the side of Hwy 29.

While officers were exiting their vehicle, the driver of the SUV accelerated and led police on a short chase that ended on Griffin Street near Frazier’s, where Wood pulled in front of the SUV to stop it and was intentionally struck by the driver, Yarbrough said.

The occupants of the SUV were then ordered out of the car and to place their hands on the roof.

Jones said he had told the driver of the car, identified as Ana Rajnee Miles, to pull over, but stated she was acting “incoherent,” according to the report.

Investigators searched the vehicle where a backpack was found in the backseat that contained 23 Oxycodone pills and a loaded Titan .25 caliber pistol.

Marijuana was also found scattered through the car, along with a Ruger SR 9mm handgun reported stolen from Dekalb County in March.

In the back of the SUV, another backpack was located that reportedly contained a variety of Oxycodone, Percocet and THC oil. Also found inside the backpack was Jones’ passport and $148 in “petty cash,” according to Jones.

Jones reportedly admitted to smoking marijuana, but denied any of the marijuana found in the car belonged to him. He also denied knowledge of the firearms and advised he has a prescription for the pills, although he didn’t have it with him.

All four occupants of the car were transported to Newnan Piedmont Hospital to be medically cleared before they were booked into the Coweta County Jail early Thursday morning.

Miles, 23, was charged with aggravated assault, fleeing/attempting to elude police, theft by receiving stolen property, narcotics possession, marijuana possession, dangerous drugs to be kept in original container, aggressive driving and failure to maintain lane.

Passengers Darnell Maurice Wright, 31, and Jamal Rajhun Smith, 32, were also charged with narcotics possession, marijuana possession and possession of firearm during commission of a crime. Smith was also charged with theft by receiving stolen property.

The four individuals are currently awaiting a appearance hearing where a bond amount will be determined.

Jones is a hip-hop recording artist from the Bronx and an original member of the hip-hop collective The Diplomats.

Jones and his childhood friend, Cam'ron, co-founded the record label Diplomat Records. Jones has directed music videos for artists such as Juelz Santana, Remy Ma and State Property.

Jones also appeared on the VH1 show "Love & Hip Hop: New York" and starred in the reality show "Chrissy & Mr. Jones" with his fiancée, Chrissy Lampkin.

He recently released a new solo album called Wasted Talent on April 13, according to Billboard.com .
