Tap'N With Lushous Lounge
Today we are excited to introduce you to Lushous Lounge. Lushous Lounge is a bbw/hip hop club currently located in Westminster, CA. They are a size acceptance club that caters to the plus size community and have a unique soulful vibe similar to a family get together where patrons come to drink, dance, smoke and network.
Lushous Lounge was founded by Angela who has been in the BBW community for 13 years. Her first club experience was at the age of 30 and was a BBW club. As a voluptuous gal, it was electrifying for her to feel not only desired, but preferred. She fell in love with the vibe and was hooked!
When Club Bubbles decided to close its doors in 2019, she thought "somebody has to keep the party going, and who better but me?"
They went strong until March 2020 and (for obvious reasons) took a six-month hiatus. From Labor Day 2020 to St. Patrick's Day 2021, they hosted two events per month. Then, from St. Patrick's Day 2021 to Halloween 2021, they hosted every Saturday.
Their most recent event was their Pin-Up Party; their next even is their Post-Thanksgiving Jam on November 27, 2021.
They’ve had K-Day host Cece Valencia come grace them with her presence and brought the legendary Sway Calloway along for the ride!
This recently past Labor Day, they had the Finnaticz in the house performing their hot tracks "Don't Drop That Thun" and "Thick Bih Lil Bih".
Lushous Lounge will be filming a BBW based documentary December 4th, 2021 for their Red Dress Party, which also happens to be Angela’s birthday!
Lessons that Angela has learned along this journey include: energy is everything, “don’t give up!", some events are going to suck, some are going to rock!, know your audience, crowd control is a state of mind, look people in the eye when conducting business, be flexible enough to negotiate, but firm enough to set boundaries, and that when you SMILE, the world smiles with you.
