Jun 10 Michael Dean Official New Single “TRVP” Featuring Caskey Out Now + New Music On The Way

Dean Michael Martinez better know as Michael Dean Official, known as an independent hip-hop artist currently residing in Anaheim, California, is not your typical rapper. He proudly rocks a faux hawk, can change up his rugged hip-hop sound with a twist of pop, and is a talented actor as well. Michael Dean Official admits to struggling with knowing if he should pursue music professionally, but had no doubt that he was passionate about music starting from the young age of 6. Heavily influenced by legendary artist, Nas, Michael Dean Official started writing his own music at 8 years old while listening to Nas’ CDs on replay.

When did you start pursuing music? When did you start taking it seriously?

I started writing my own music when I was 8 or 9. I would have the Nas CD on repeat at that point, and also Eminem, The Slim Shady LP. I drew inspiration from tongue twisting lyrics, to being able to figure out punchlines. I started practicing the art of freestyling as well, and just made sure I could come up with a sentence or word that always rhymed or made sense. when school came around in 3rd grade, I would start freestyling for peers and just writing music in the fields at recess, and encouraging other kids too do so, too.

In your opinion, what makes you stand out from other/current artists?

I am me. I really do what I say, and am who I am. I don’t talk different and I don’t reach for respect. I am just me- happy go lucky, and [I’m] really an artist who loves good vibes and having fun. My style is different, not only my music, but the way my physical style is. I don’t care if everyone wears hats and chains. I rock a faux hawk and got a diamond on my face.

Who inspires your music?

Nas and Em. I got to give credit where it’s due. Those two are geniuses, and 50 Cent as well!

What impact are you looking to make with your music and what are your goals?

I want a Hot 100 [song]. I want a plaque. I want people to not ever be afraid to express their past, or be a changing force. Currently in life, I want them to see that you can really win no matter what people say.

What are you currently working on?

I have an album which brings my whole artistic aspect [together]- my life: the good, the bad, and the struggles. It’s titled, Almost Famous, which captures my dry sense of humor, my serious side, and the character that I am on the regular.

Do you have a new project that is out now or coming out soon that you are currently promoting?

I have this song titled ,“TRVP,” featuring Caskey. It’s part of my Almost Famous album for my freshman project. The album doesn’t have a release date yet, but I would say early Summer 2020.
